ACLS is an advanced, instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. It also covers airway management and related pharmacology. In this course, skills are taught in large, group sessions and small, group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is a classroom, video-based, Instructor-led course that uses a series of simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation and team dynamics. The goal of the PALS Course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes.

A Basic Life Support CPR Instructor course certifies the instructor to also teach all AHA Heartsaver courses as well as BLS.

The STEMI cost for the BLS Instructor Course $300.00 (classroom course, 1st year alignment fee*, initial monitoring, 2 year BLS Instructor Certificate)

BLS Instructor Essential online - payable to AHA at time of ordering online - must be completed prior to classroom course.

Each student must have a BLS 2015 Edition AHA BLS Instructor Manual #15-1009 – approx. $40.00 (not included with course) - during class.

Upon completion of the classroom portion of the course, the potential instructor candidate will be monitored teaching a class in its entirety before instructor status is complete.

Pre-requisites

Before attending the discipline-specific classroom portion of an instructor course, all instructor candidates must

  • Be currently BLS Provider certified for a minimum of six (6) months prior to attending the instructor course.
  • Have completed and returned an Instructor Candidate Application (attached)
  • Provide a letter of recommendation from a teacher, supervisor, healthcare professional or an AHA Instructor

*Note:  All American Heart Association Instructors must be aligned with a Training Center in order to teach AHA courses.  Sawtooth Emergency Medical Training Institute charges $75 per year per instructor for BLS alignment.  This fee covers general instructor maintenance and support, any monitoring required and use of the course and roster submission online program, Enrollware. The initial alignment fee is included in your instructor course cost.  The alignment fee is subsequently billed each June for alignment July 1 – June 30 each year.

The Advanced EMT program is four months long and will be held on Monday/Wednesday evenings from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. The total cost of the program is $2500.00.  In addtion, STEMI requires a $100.00 non-refundable deposit to secure your seat.

STEMI utilizes American Heart Association's eCard system.  In order for your card to be assigned properly, you must use your own personal email address as well as your own personal phone number.  STEMI will not sell or share your personal information.  If you have any questions about this, feel free to give us a call.
